An Episode for Mental Health Awareness week with Heather Waring to show how walking and connecting with nature can have a huge impact on your wellbeing. In fact In the Pandemic over 70% of women have been doing this to take in nature and for mental health. Heather Waring shares how for 10 years she had a feeling that something was missing in her life, but she was not quite sure what it was. Her life wasn’t bad, she had great family and friends that she felt she should feel complete with, but she lacked energy and a sparkle in her eye . It was just like there was a jigsaw piece missing which meant that she couldn’t complete the picture. In hindsight she was on her way to burnout and adrenal fatigue. Heather talks about her reboot, starting with the realisation by reading a book that her candle had been extinguished – she had burned out,  how reaching out for help and the slow pace of walking  helped her to connect with nature, growing herself, connecting with herself, helped her to start to find her way back to her again.

Key Learns

“There was a book called Super woman by Shirley Conrad, and it was about women being able to have it all. And I think there’s a lot of women who still do feel they can have it all, why shouldn’t they have it all? And I’m not saying you can’t have the career and the family and, or the business and all these things. But I do think you have to decide on priorities, and you’ve got to decide on balance”

“So my real blueprint for living a life you love is to know who you are, know what your values are, know what makes you tick, what lights you up and make sure that you bring all of those things into your life. If you do that, you’re going to have a pretty good time. But I think this pandemic has really thrown a lot of that just up into the air for many people and not just for me.
